Mountain snows to freshen slopes at six Colorado ski resorts that remain open

All six Colorado ski resorts that remain open will be receiving fresh snow over the next few days. And while it won’t be much, any snow in April is a good thing for diehard skiers and riders who aren’t ready to call it a season.

Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain, Loveland and Winter Park all are expected to receive 5-6 inches Thursday through Sunday, mostly in doses of an inch or two per day, according to OpenSnow, an independent service that provides mountain snow and weather forecasts.

Snowmass, which closes for the season on Sunday, is expected to receive 9 inches. Copper Mountain also closes for the season on Sunday.

The four resorts remaining open after Sunday — Breck, A-Basin, Loveland and Winter Park — can expect another 6-8 inches next week.

High temperatures on Saturday are expected to be in the mid to upper 30s at all but Snowmass, which is expected to reach 40 degrees. Highs on Sunday are expected to be in the 40s at all four areas.
